Description

Sales-oriented functional modeling can promote system understanding by representing sales of a technical system and functionally describing changes to sales products.

Procedure

  1. Formulate the goal of functional modeling: For what purpose should the system be abstracted?
  2. Determine the appropriate level of abstraction, depending on the purpose of the abstraction: focus on essential aspects
  3. Define the system boundary that separates the system under consideration from the environment
  4. Modeling of the main revenue stream
  5. Describe the properties (states) of the sales product: input and output states
  6. Describe the property changes of the sales product (operations)
  7. Linking secondary sales to main sales using supplementary, conditional and process states
