Description

The item number is the identification number for an item matter/circumstance. This should be clear and uniform throughout the entire framework, e.g. covering all corporate areas in a company, because the item number must identify and classify an item. The facts and circumstances include objects, documents, regulations, etc. Item number systems can be made up of parallel numbers or compound numbers: Parallel number when a item number (identification number) is linked to an independent classification number; Composite number if the number consists of several number parts.
