Activities

  • Activity 2: Determining functions and their structures
  • Activity 6: Designing the modules

Description

Numerical calculation methods are used to analyse virtual geometry models of the product. This is done in particular when analysing the interactions of these with the environment. This is used, for example, in fluid mechanics (computational fluid dynamics CFD) or in the investigation of material behaviour such as heat conduction or deformation under load (finite element method FEM).

Procedure

  1. Define geometry model and system boundaries
  2. Define input and output variables as well as disturbance variables
  3. Simulate the component behaviour with numerical calculation
